Diane Rath, Chicago, IL. Diane Rath is acknowledged as one of the finest upcoming and visionary teachers present today. For over twenty years she has been perfecting her painting and teaching skills as a working artist and an instructor of oil painting at the prestigious Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Arts in Chicago. She also presents workshops in still life, portraiture and landscape in many of the United States and in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Ms. Rath offers paintings through galleries and for commissions. She shows her work in numerous group exhibitions and has created six one woman shows. Gallery representation is through Vermont Artisan Designs & Gallery 2 (Brattleboro, VT), Joe Wade Fine Arts (Santa Fe, NM), Susan Powell Fine Arts (Madison, CT), Hinsdale Gallery (Hinsdale, IL) and Talisman Gallery (OK). Ms. Rath’s education has been extensive and continuous. Her early training began in Iowa at Keyte’s Art Studio followed by two degrees and post graduate studies at the American Academy of Art. Since then, Ms. Rath has continued to study the highly refined painting and teaching techniques of renowned artists Richard Schmid, David Leffel and Harley Brown. Ms. Rath has been on the faculties of the American Academy of Art as well as the Palette & Chisel Academy of Fine Arts where she served on the Board of Directors for six years. She is a Signature Member of Oil Painters of America and is affiliated with American Women Artists, listed in Cambridge Who’s Who in America and a member of Artists on the Bluff.
